Patience Event

posted Nov 22, 2019, 9:56 AM by Admissions Admissions
Our students exercised their PATIENCE skills this morning as we wrapped up our November “Christ In Me” lesson. Each group was given a paper heart with a scripture verse written on it, and they discussed what the verse and patience meant to them. They then wrote examples down on strips of paper that were glued to create a paper chain and attached to the heart. We will have our Patience Heart Chains displayed in the gym for anyone that would like to come look at them. The students then created double-sided PATIENCE/NO PATIENCE signs. Our 3rd and 4th grade class presented several short skits, and the students used their signs to signal if the characters were demonstrating PATIENCE or NO PATIENCE, and were asked to give ideas on how the characters could have handled their situations better. Ms. McGanney closed the event by teaching everyone the sign language motion for patience, and encouraged everyone to use it when they got agitated as a gentle reminder to themselves to calm down and be patient with the people around them.
